During the open lab you will have an opportunity to upload any class materials that you have prepared for your course.  Please bring these materials with you on a CD, “thumb” drive, or have them available on a network accessible drive. Additionally, you can set up your class communication tools, assignments, gradebook, and or quizzes.

 

Come anytime between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

<p></p><p></p><p>Description:</p><p>The Blackboard gradebook can be used with tests and assignments deployed within Blackboard.  It can also be used to keep track of grades of tests and assignments not contained within Blackboard. You will be introduced to a variety of  gradebook components and learn how to create, manage, and navigate items within your gradebook. Additionally, covered topics include weighting the grades, downloading grades to your computer, and uploading grades from MS Excel to your Blackboard gradebook.

Also discussed is the delivery of the online quizzes to students through Respondus Lockdown browser which is a browser that can prevent students from accessing their local desktop resources, external Internet resources, or network communication tools while taking an online quiz.

You will also learn how to modify your Course Menu (that is presented to your students on first entering your course) to best fit the material you have to present to them, ie. Hiding tools you will not use, hiding content areas, moving items around in your menu, etc. You will also get an understanding of the use of the Class Announcements tool and Instructor Profile page.

Additionally, we will share some tips for discouraging unscheduled student collaboration and list steps that your students should take to successfully submit an assessment for grading.
